Skate Summer & New Works

Hello all!

I hope you enjoy the new Rajani/Luna sketch! You can expect at least one more Summer Sketchbook image this weekend starring Evelyn, Nileya and the elusive Vanessa Tran 😋 and possibly one more Li’l Ev’lyn sketch to wrap up our injury-delayed Summer Sketchbook 😛

In more pressing news, I finally have an update about new upcoming works and what you can expect!

First off, I’d like to thank everyone for your continued support and patience while I recover. I never expected everyone to be so understanding—although perhaps I should have, considering the lot of you are always so chill and supportive, basically at all times. I’ve never talked this much about my personal life in the many years I’ve been doing this, but I also feel that all of you are owed something of an explanation—if at the very least to set expectations.

Where I’m at Now, Recovery-Wise 

I’ll keep this as short and simple as I can. This piece is about the limit of the level of detail I can handle right now. Anything requiring more smoothness or more finesse is a little beyond my reach at the moment. I can also colour things (thankfully, my colouring style is simple), so long as the lines are pencil-only (and a little rough, like the above). This level of work took me longer than normal as well (frequent breaks), but that’s preferable to not drawing at all. My recovery isn’t complete, and I do have an appointment with an osteopath (words I never thought I’d say), but we take this one step at a time.

Where We’re at Work-Wise

Fortunately, we are no stranger to penciled comic series here (including, for example, the Banana Split series, various Short Shorts, our Halloween comics, and Autumn Lake). Although I can’t do anything with a high degree of polish right now (like Honey Girl Diaries or feature Good Girls chapters), we can finally get back to telling stories about our favourite Good Girl characters 😋

To put it more clearly, here’s an idea of some of the stuff I’ve lined up to work on while I’m getting through this recovery…

• A Short Shorts series starring Charlotte and Apollo (Charlotte’s Secret Diary)

• A new Banana Split entry (Evelyn’s Parent/Teacher Night)

• A new Pumpkin Pie comic for Halloween

From talking with a lot of you, via messages, or on Discord, I know that exploring these characters and telling stories about them is what draws most of us to Spring Valley. I will endeavour to continue telling stories with all of you during this time, but if the temporary focus on pencil works (colour and black+white) is a turn off over the fully-polished colour works, I understand and I won’t take it personally if you step back from your pledge. All I humbly ask if you choose to do so is to join us on Discord so you are able to receive notification of when I’m back to proper working condition 😋 And in the meantime, let’s keep telling more smutty, fun stories.

After all, I don’t want to miss this opportunity to tell another feature-length Halloween story this October… I live for Halloween stories!

It’s no lie to say you’ve all made recovery easier… you’ve given me one less thing to worry about in a space that typically requires constant output for continued survival. Thank you, everyone. I mean it!! Words can never express how much I appreciate all of you, but I’m sure as heck gonna try!!!
